A Big Week

This week has seen some great progress. Plumber has been busy installing stormwater pipes to the tanks. These trenches will also carry all water supply back to the house, to fire hose reels, sprinkler systems etc. Basically some big holes and a lot of mess.... at least its not raining.

yep, big trenches

Our OzziKleen was also installed this week. This is our waste disposal system, a fully aerobic system (non-septic), miniaturised version of a standard town water treatment plant. The water that comes out at the end is clean, full of Nitrogen, sterile, and goes back onto the garden....

It goes into (another) hole in the ground. This one is definitely into the rock and keeping excavator busy.

And as if that wasn't enough this week, Hebel walls were finished off and rendering has started.

More concrete, this time its the walls

Walls are going up now. Hebel power wall. Its reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete, achieves excellent energy ratings and is a strong and lightweight alternative to brick etc. Mind you, each panel weighs 100kg, not exactly what Id call lightweight work. I think we have 10 tonnes or so of the stuff. Glad someone else is doing all the lifting....

A lot of trenching at the moment too as the plumber gets going on sewer lines, outdoor taps and drains etc. This is one pipe I don't want horizontal.

Sunrise is something I probably wouldn't see too often if it weren't for two early risers in the house.....

Windows

more frames and some windows going in this week. Next week the Hebel starts. Yay!

'tis the time of changing one's mind. This week we have changed our mind about the fire, and have set our final decision in cold hard cash. So now we are going for the Morso 2140. Love those Danish fire places.

PS. We reserve the right to change our minds as much as we like.
